Hiya!

So every once in awhile I pop into the library to see if they have any new movies out that I can take out - and I saw this series, "The Good Wife".  Has anyone seen, or does anyone watch?  I'm very impressed by the woman/main character - she has an excellent poker face and presence about her.   She also wears red, a lot.  And I felt like her today in my outfit :-)

I'm also thinking about starting "Downton Abby" - anyone watch that?  Any suggestions on whether to or not?

Oh and PS - I'm banning myself from shopping.  I did an inventory of my closet and realized that for every top I have there are at least four new ways I can wear it I haven't before.  I've been remixing my closet but I NEED to find ways to stay away from thrift stores and the mall!

Any suggestions on how to successfully complete a long-term shopping ban??

Thanks for reading!
Sarah

  1. I did a whole month of no-shopping for February, it really made me dig into my closet and bring out clothing that I haven't seen in a long time. So good luck, I highly recommend it!

  2. LOVE the Good Wife! It's a great series, and it just keeps getting better. She does wear red alot, it's a power color. Good luck on the no shopping thing!

  3. Hi Sarah, haven't seen "The Good Wife" or "Downton Abbey" but I've heard they're both wonderful. As for how to prevent someone from shoping... there's an old joke.

    Q. "How do you stop an angry rhino from charging?"
    A. "Take away his credit cards."

  4. WOW! good luck with the shopping ban...its SO hard! Maybe put a time limit on it, and give yourself a budget to spend when you're done. We are girls, we can't just NOT shop forever!!

    Love this look!

  5. I've done a shopping ban before and by the end of the month I was running out of will power. It takes careful planning that's for sure! good luck!

  6. I've never completed a formal shopping ban, but I'd like to. I'm thinking that I could easily survive a month by having some sort of challenge to shop my own closet or remix certain pieces, or something like that. It would distract me from wanting new things. Sometimes, if I'm in the "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR" rut, I sit and take a closet inventory, and make up lists and lists of potential outfits. That way, I see how flexible the clothing I already have is!
