Make a BBQ Statement

I'm linking up today with The Tiny Heart for her Backyard BBQ Linky Party!  I've worn this dress to many a BBQ, but this time I added a little more with a large statement necklace and colorful belt.

I couldn't decide if I liked the belt or not; which way do YOU prefer it??
I also don't know if you could consider the bottom of this dress Chevron or Ikat - I used to just call it my tye-dye dress but now that I'm wise in the ways of the fashion world it looks almost like a Chevron to me - Thoughts?

 Dress: Gap Outlet (very old) {Chevron Option} | Flats: Target {Similar}
Necklace: NY&Co {KCole Option} | Bracelet: Mexico (on vacation)  {Cute Option}
Belt: Thrifted {Asos}

Almost Friday!! Enjoy your OWN Backyard BBQ!

  2. Darn! Why does this dress have to be "very old" lol I love it! And I gotta say, I like it more without the belt. Cool necklace too :)

  5. Hi girl! I actually love this without the belt! I would call this chevron print but it does have a tie-dyeesque quality to it so I am not sure. Ha! Either way, it is a great dress. Especially for a BBQ!

  6. What an adorable dress! I think it looks like chevron tie-dye to me :) I love it both with the belt and on its own. Thanks SO much for joining the link up! Can you please just add the link to my blog and/or the link up button on your post so others can join in? Thank Sarah!

  7. Belted. Totally. And I say chevron all the way. But if you want to be clever about it- with the belt its tye-dye, without it's chevron. At least that's how I would attempt to justify it. You look great regardless!

  8. Very cute dress! I like that the belt takes it to another level. A little less casual that way.

  11. Both ways are so cute, it's hard to decide! But I think I prefer it with the belt, just to break up the blue and add some extra color.

  18. I love the color of the dress and really it looks great with or without the belt. But since I'm a belt girl, I would definitely wear the belt :-)

  21. Hi Sarah! Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog and for following me! I'm now following you back and love this blog! I can't decide if I like the belt with this or not either! It is so hard with these kinds of dresses, because you want to wear a belt to break up the bottom print with the solid top, but at the same time, they make the seam so far up, yet it isn't empire or mid-waist! I get it girl! I like to consider this chevron print too! Can't wait to browse through your other looks as well! Have a great night and keep in touch for sure! xx Pip

  26. I'm going to call it AWESOME (but technically maybe a "chevron ikat"?) I love it, whatever you call it! It's a beautiful color and I love your necklace :)

  27. I like the belt and necklace, adds just that little extra something. Its like when all the other girls are wearing just the sundress or shorts and a tank, and you pop up with the awesome accessories = BAM!

  29. Love it belted - gives it a little extra zing with the color, and I think it's an easier break from solid to print! Super cute!
