Just a reminder to everyone that I am on vacation this week - so if you don't hear back from me that's why! Hope you enjoy all the guest bloggers this week! Please meet Skylette - isn't she just GORGEOUS???
Hey Everyone! I'm Skylette from Sequins & Stilettos - I've been following Sarah's blog for a while now and I'm a huge fan of her thrifting abilities and jealous we don't have better thrifting in my area. Just a snippet about me - I'm a working mama with three little boys with a crazy schedule. Being surrounded by all boys can be a little much at times, so blogging my so-called "fashion diaries" has been my girlie outlet.
For today's post, I've chosen to style one piece three different ways, and now that I think about it, most of my guest posts center around this concept, so I'm thinking I need to be better about running the same feature on my own blog. Haha, moving on - I've had a lot of black and white in my closet over the past few years, and I LOVE polka dots so I chose a black/white/polka dotted skirt to feature this time.
First up is a look pairing it with a chambray shirt (you see chambray everywhere right now) for an easy yet put together look. I dress mine up with some statement jewelry to wear to the office:
Next up is a favorite trend of mine, polka dots on polka dots. The key to this look is making sure you're not wearing the same size and/or coloring in your top and bottom. Try a smaller printed dot on top in the same colorway, or black on white versus white on black... make sense?
asos pencil skirt / white house black market belt and shoes
Finally, the easiest I suppose (but definitely fun), is to pair a black and white bottom with a bold colored top to make a "wow" statement:
white house black market heels (old)
There you have it - and there are plenty other ways to "re-mix" this skirt. I would love to hear your feedback! Thanks Sarah for letting my stop by!

Great post Skylette! All of the looks are beautiful but I think I really like the first one. I would've never thought to pair the two together but I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Doll! I love that chambray shirt and how comfortable it is so of course I needed to figure out a way to wear it to the office! ;)

ReplyDeleteOh Sarah- you just have to find the right proportions. You know I'd help you with that. ;)
